RANK STRUCTURE IN NCC CADETS (Army Wing)

  • Senior Under Officer
  • Cadet Under Officer
  • Company Quarter Master Sergeant
  • Company  Sergeant Master
  • Sergeant
  • Corporal
  • Lance Corporal
  • Cadet

The greater the rank comes greater responsibility,I think cadet is the best rank if you want to relax. If you want to play a safe game then you can be Cpl & L/Cpl .Then comes our sergent will be like the supporting leg also the acting person of responsibility then higher ranks will feel all the burden on their shoulder ,These are the pillars of NCC where you have to face all the challenges , shouting from senior,praises etc… Actually there are no words to describe the challenges faced by the higher rank holders.If the junior makes the mistake he(senior) will get the punishment,If the junior does something extra-ordinary he will get the praises thus being senior is not a simple thing.But at the end of the day you will actually get much experience and you can survive anything . First of all the students are recruited in N.C.C as the cadets. Afterwards they are promoted to the following ranks :

  1. Lance corporal (L/CPL). The following are the eligibility condition for them :

He must have undergone atleast 3 months training in NCC

He must have minimum 75% attendance in parade .

He should have passed the drill test, map reading and field craft

2. Corporal (CPL). The following are the eligibility condition for them:

He must have worked for 6 months as L/CPL

He must have passed weapon training test

3. Sergeant (SGT). The following are the eligibility condition for them:

He must have worked for 6 months as CPL

He should be the cadet of second year NCC

4. Under officer (U/O). The following are the eligibility condition for them:

He must have worked for atleast 6 months as sergeant

He must have passed 'B' certificate

5. Senior under officer (SUO). The following are the eligibility condition for them:

He must have worked for atleast 6 months as under officer for this post

There are 154 cadets in every company of senior division (SD)/ senior wing (SW) NCC . There are 1 senior under officer, 3 under officers , 5 sergeants , 9 corporals and 18 lance corporal in an NCC company

FIRE CONTROL ORDER IN NCC

 TOPIC: FIRE CONTROL ORDERS (FCO) IN NCC A fire control order is given so that the soldier can recognize the target and fire at it effectively. It is important that the cadet knows how to react to the fire control order sequence. A fire control order is given in a definite sequence.  The mnemonic 'GRIT' will help in remembering the sequence:  1. GROUP. This indicates who is being addressed, "Section", "Fire Team" (Charlie or Delta), "No. 2 Rifleman", etc.  2. RANGE. This indicates the distance to the target.  3. INDICATION. This indicates in which direction to look and what to look for.  4. TYPE of FIRE. This indicates what type of fire is required, Deliberate, Rapid or Bursts. The order is completed with the command "Fire". There are five basic types of fire control orders to cater for battle situations:  1. FULL.
